Icelandic Sheep

Here at Alfheim we raise Icelandic sheep for their lean, mild-flavored meat, colorful fiber and luxurious pelts. They are a truly versatile animal. They may also be used as a milk animal, though we're darned if we can figure out how to catch them on a daily basis. Maybe we'll try after this year's crop of lambs. They are wary by nature and still fairly wild despite being grained daily. The up side of this is that they are pretty self-sufficient. They lamb on their own and regularly have twins. Triplets are not unusual. Their fleece is prized by handspinners and comes in many colors. Here at Alfheim we have black, grey, white and Moorit sheep. Moorit is a deep red color.
Please contact us if you are interested in one for your flock or freezer.

If you are a handspinner and interested in our fleece, or are interested in a pelt we often have these available for sale or trade.
We occasionally have meat available as well.
Please contact us with any questions.
