RESCUE

Rescue is a service provided for dogs that have been abandoned at animal shelters, taken from abusive homes or surrendered to Rescue due to the death or divorce of the former owner. Occasionally, dogs are turned over to Rescue because the owner can no longer keep the dog and the dog was acquired from a source to which it cannot be returned.

Rescue members foster these dogs in their homes, where their health and temperament are evaluated. All dogs are taken for a veterinary check-up: vaccinations are updated, the animal is neutered/spayed and, if necessary, its teeth are cleaned. Each dog is evaluated so that it can be placed in a home suitable to both the dog and new owners.

A responsible breeder will ALWAYS take a dog back, no matter what.  Unfortunately, not every puppy born comes from a responsible breeder.  Many, especially those found in pet shops come from puppy mills.  If you don't know what a puppy mill is, please go to Prisoners of Greed.

Rescue dogs are wonderful additions to the family.  They are sometimes house or crate trained.  A rescue is a GREAT idea for folks who don't have the time or energy that a puppy requires.

And don't forget the senior dogs!!!

They are really extra special.

Please consider rescue.
